The problem

A sixty-year-old labor firm on a dated Squarespace site that did not communicate who they represent or why a union should call them.

What I built

  • 01Nine complete homepage directions, narrowed to two, then to one, so the firm chose from finished work rather than from a description.
  • 02Seventeen pages including four practice areas and eleven individual attorney profiles, written from a recorded client call rather than from assumptions.
  • 03A DNS cutover from Squarespace to Vercel that preserved the firm’s Microsoft 365 email without a single interruption, which mattered more to them than the design did.
  • 04Launch SEO: canonical tags across every page, a sitemap, and a permanent redirect map from every old URL.

Result

Live since July 2026 and still maintained. Two new attorney profiles shipped in August. Contact forms were removed at the firm’s request in favour of a phone-first structure, and a transposed digit in the phone number that had been wrong site-wide was caught and fixed.

Scope and limits

My mother has worked at this firm for about thirty years, which is how the engagement came about. Worth saying plainly rather than letting it look like a cold win.
